São Paulo, September 2020 - For a good harvest, it is important to take care of the initial stage from seed treatment (ST) to sowing and crop establishment. With Labsec SuperFluid Graf drying powders, used in the ST with Laborsan Agro's best polymers, it is possible to obtain a seed with better plantability right from the ST, bringing the practicality of a seed that is more ready for planting.
According to agronomist Emanuel Soto, Laborsan Agro's research coordinator, Labsec Superfluid Graf drying powders are made up of minerals that give the seeds greater fluidity, guaranteeing an adequate drying finish for the TS operation, "These drying powders have a better 'lubricating' power than ordinary drying powders, making the surface of the seeds more fluid (lubricated) and improving plantability, which makes the seed even more ready for sowing, even making it possible to dispense with the action known as graffiti," he explains.
The fluidity that Labsec Superfluid Graf drying powders bring to seeds is what helps reduce double irregularities and flaws. The reduction of up to 99% in irregularities can be measured using equipment that simulates sowing implements and counts the irregularities detected.
In this context, the uniformity of the stand is fundamental to the success of the crop. In some crops, such as corn, this can be even more critical since the crop does not have the characteristic of compensating for uneven plant stands. "Irregularities can lead to fewer plants/row ('gaps'), and 'doubles' can cause competition between plants, some of which can become unproductive," concludes Laborsan Agro's research coordinator.
